Claire Vague presents clothes and curates exhibitions.
The Claire Vague wardrobe mostly evolve from found items or sampled, transformed, or customized images. One piece can be translated into different forms of existence, for example a coat into a dress, a shirt into a sweater... Together, they build a transformative wardrobe rather than a seasonal collection.
The Claire Vague exhibitions take place in different locations and apartments in various cities. The themes of the group shows develop intuitively and adapt to the architectural settings where they take place. On the website, the artists who have participated in the groupshows are introduced with a series of work and a short artist statement.
The name Claire Vague is based on Jean Luc Godards film 'La Chinoise'. There it says spraypainted on a wall ' il faut confronter les idées vagues avec des images claires'.
